Arrivals are mainly at the train or bus station both in the new part of town but served by numerous buses to the centre of the city. There is also a small airport now served by Ryanair which is has a bus service timed to meet flights and this run froms the Gran Via back to the Airport. If you are going to using buses in the city you can by a Card on the bus for €2 which you put money on at the same time and can re-charge and it halves to cost of a journey.
Room Mate Migueletes, C/Banakua just behind the Plaza Nueva is part of the Room Mate Group www.room-matehotels.com but unlike their mainly modrn hotels this is a traditional Granada building round an open courtyard rooms are very well appoinited and staff very helpful.
Hotel Reina Cristina www.hotelreinacristina.com C/Tablas 4 off the Plaza de Trinidad is an excellent family run hotel where Lorca spent his last days
There are now numerous hotels in the Albacin area where houses with Patios called Carmens have been converted into hotels and can be found on various web sites
There are also lots of sites with apartments to rent ranging from small houses in the Albacin, to apartments in the centre to caves in Sacromonte

Granada still has free tapas in 99% of the bars with every drink and a different tapas if you have a second drink - true the drinks are slightly more expensive than other places in Andalucia but the selection of tapas is amazing

Oliver, Plaza de Pescaderia 12 next door to Cunini and another very busy fish restaurant with a bar
Ermita, C/Carcel Baja is a large modern bar/restaurant very popular.
Pie de la Torre, is a very traditional bar next door to Ermita witha restaurant attached, has a reputation as being popular with locals/
Shine, Plaza Bibi Rambla, a new hotel, bar and restaurant worth trying the staff are very friendly.
Reca, on Plaza Trinidad, a new modern bar with a great reputation go and have a beer or a wine and try out the free tapas.
Poe C/Paz is run by a very nice Englishman called Mathewand has a choice of free tapas with your drinks ranging from spicy pork to Brazilian Bean Casserole
Lax, is opposite Poe again witha choice of free tapas more traditional and lacking atmosphere.
Om-Kalsum C/Jardines 17 again has a choice of tapas but this time with a Moroccan influence such as tajines of chicken and loves and another of meatballs, again free !
Enoteca Pacurri, C/Gracia 21 is a lovely wine bar again with free tapas like most places in this area very different from the standard tapas.
La Bodega de Antonio C/Jardines 4 is a Galician bar and restaurant always full of locals
La Bodeguilla de al Lado, C/Tendidas de Santa Paula, near teh University is part wine bar part shop and is worth a visit, the wine is not particulalrly cheap but it is worth seeking out.
Along Calle Elvira there is a huge selection of every type of bar if you go to the end near the Arco Elvira there is a great little group of places
El Circulo, C/Elvira is a modern cafe/bar which stays open late it still gives out excellent free tapasa up to midnight and is one of the best for a nightcap in a street which has a strange variety of places and people.
Al Sur de Granada C/Elvira 150 is a grocers shop come wine bar restaurant very helpful staff and a great cold meat and cheese free tapas
Arcos Iris just nearby off C/Elvira is a small bar specialising in seafood great free tapas of prawns or whatever is todays fish

Casa Julio C/Hermosa off Plaza Nueva find this place even if as always they are digging up the street. You may think you are not getting your free tapas but the fresh fried fish will always appear from the kitchen

Sultan, C/Elvira 13 is a good Moroccan restaurant with an execellent value set lunch, the low tables and cahirs are not designed for comfort !
Convent Restaurant, AC Hotel, Gran Via is fabulous if you want a real splurge meal, the chef has just won the top award in Spain and it is really special, amzing foor and service and a beautiful setting.
