Train from the Airport goes to Centro Alameda the last stop and a five minute walk from the centre of Malaga The alternative to save the walk is teh bus which again goes to the Alameda via the Bus and Train Station.

Hotel Don Curro C/Sancha de Lara 9 very central smart looking old fashioned hotel
Hotel Larios, Calle Marques de Larios 2, part of the Room Mate group www.room-matehotels.com this is a classic art deco hotel with a modern touch now that Room Mate own it. It has a roof top bar in the summer reputedly the haunt of Antonio Banderas when re visits his home town. The rooms are very well appointed.

Calle Comisario off the Alameda Principal (North Side) is a narrow alley full of fried fish/seafood bars the best is Casa Vincente
Lo Gueno C/Marin Garcia 9 excellent tiny bar with a great selection (44) of cold and hot tapas friendly, helpful staff (off Marques de Larios)
Gorki C/Strachan All dishes have to be ordered and are made up in the kitchen or Deli platters, main dishes or selections of open type tapas. Worth waiting for a seat. (off Marques de Larios)

Meson Las Garrafas C/Mendez Nunez 5 good old bar
Bar Orellana C/Moreno Monroy 5 busy bar but worth persevering to get served
La Dehesa Alameda Principal 11 great little tapas bar at the back of grocers shop
La Casa Guardia Alameda Principal 18 Oldest bar in Malaga and looks like it huge barrels of Malaga wines
Plaza Uncibay has lots of bars in the square and the streets around Ajo Blanco (in the square) particularly good does an great range of tapas
Bodegas Quitapenas C/Sanchez Pastor nr Passage great cheap seafood tapas and Cava Cocktail
La Campana, C/Granada 35 specialising in fried fish and seafood this is a basic bar that is always packed - they ring the bell when you leave a tip.
Clandestino, C/Nino de Guevara 3, is more a restaurant than a tapas bar but is very poular and stays open late.
Plaza de la Merced also has a number of newer type bars Lechuga (on the square) modern excellent tapas, Bar Citron very popular food looked interesting
El Tapeo de Cervantes, C/Carcer about five minutes walk from Plaza de la Merced is a fabulous bar, teh taps are all made to order and are exceptional - it is a very small place so get there early.
La Rebana, C/Molina de Lario 4, this is a very smart modern taps bar, a newcomer on the Malaga scene, very popular with locals there is a wide range of larger dishes to order that all look really good and a great wine selection, the staff are not the most welcoming.
The other area that is supposed to be very lively is around the Bull Ring have never made it that far in the evening during the day there are a couple round C/Cervantes La Tienda del Tapeo good different selection
The Main town beach Malagueta is very nice, clean lots of places to eat nearby including a well known large eating place called Antonio Martin, Paseo Maritimo gets good mentios in various books also several good beach bars.
Take the bus to El Palo the far end of Malaga’s beach area there is the most fantastic fish restaurant called El Tintero II on the edge of the beach. There is no menu waiters carry round trays with different types of seafood and fish there are two sizes of plates small and large and all small are one price all the large ones a second price they also do dishes like lobster to order. You have to attract the attention of the waiter carrying the tray of what you want. Its fantastic and not expensive.
